Anthology Selects Family Promise of Hawaii as 2017 Yule Store Beneficiary

Nov 28, 2017

For more than five decades, the founding companies of Anthology Marketing Group have carried on an annual tradition of giving back to the Hawaii community through a company-wide Yule Store silent auction.

With the holiday season again in full swing, we are busy gathering a variety of gift items, services, gift cards, dining and outdoor experiences, hotel accommodations and even travel opportunities from our valued clients, vendors, industry partners, staff ohana and friends who share in our belief in helping those in need. All monies raised are given to a nonprofit doing positive, essential work to strengthen our communities statewide. In recent years, our Yule Store has raised upwards of $10,000 annually.

Each November, we open up the nomination and final selection of the year’s designated Yule Store beneficiary to our staff. This year, our Anthology ohana has selected Family Promise of Hawaii as its Yule Store beneficiary, a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to mobilizing existing community resources to aid families with children who are dealing with homelessness, and helping these families transition to sustainable independence.

It's no secret that chronic homelessness is a big challenge in Hawaii. Since opening in 2006, Family Promise of Hawaii has assisted hundreds of homeless families with much-needed programs and services helping them transition into affordable housing. The organization shelters up to 28 people (the equivalent of eight families) each week, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It’s an innovative program providing a safe space to stay during the day at its two Family Centers, and partnering with local congregations, churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and community groups to provide safe places to sleep at night.

Family Promise of Hawaii opened its first Family Center in Kailua in 2006, expanding to include a second center in Honolulu in 2007. With a unique business model, the organization is able to operate at one-third the cost of traditional homeless shelter programs because of its partnering efforts with existing community resources.

Mahalo and Happy Holidays from the Anthology Marketing Group ohana!
