Anthology tops Hawaii Advertising with 11 Gold Addys, Best in Show

HONOLULU: Anthology Marketing Group, Hawaii’s largest marketing and communications company, topped the winner’s list at Hawaii’s annual Addy Awards (known as the Pele Awards) held on April 26 by the American Advertising Federation Hawaii Chapter to honor advertising and design excellence.

Anthology earned a record 11 Gold Addys, 6 Silvers and 1 Bronze – 18 total, more than any other agency – highlighted by winning Best of Show for its clever 30-second TV commercial “Seafood” produced for the Hawaii Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company, Inc. (HEMIC). Anthology also earned a Special Judge’s Award for a poster design for Shokudo Japanese Restaurant.

Anthology earned a record 11 Gold Addys, 6 Silvers and 1 Bronze – 18 total, more than any other agency.

Anthology CEO Dennis Christianson said, “We’re exceptionally proud that our strategic thinking and creativity has been validated over such a wide spectrum of clients and encompassing such a wide variety of media, and in markets that go beyond Hawaii to the U.S. West Coast, New York City, and Asia.”

Anthology’s 11 Gold Addys were earned in an array of categories, including branding; TV, radio, digital and print advertising; cinematography; long-format video; and collateral.

In addition to HEMIC and Shokudo, other clients that Anthology earned Addys for were American Savings Bank, Hawaiian Airlines, Kauai Visitors Bureau, Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau, and Royal Hawaiian Center.

Also earning plaudits for Anthology was Barbara Ankersmit as Hawaii Ad Woman of the Year. As President of Anthology’s Research Group, Ankersmit was honored for her expertise in providing insightful market research to clients ranging from political candidates and high-profile community issues to corporate brands and products.

The Addy Awards was the second straight Hawaii marketing competition at which clients of Anthology earned top honors. On April 10, at the annual awards presentation by the American Marketing Association Hawaii Chapter, chocolatier Hawaiian Host was named Marketer of the Year and Hawaiian Telcom TV honored for Best Marketing of a New Product or Service.
