Jul 21, 2016

HONOLULU – Anthology Marketing Group announced today the promotion of Jackie Smythe to executive vice president of its Public Relations Group. In her new position, Smythe will have a larger role in the management of the firm, growing its corporate communications practice and focusing on business development, in addition to her current client service responsibilities.

“I’ve had the good fortune of knowing Jackie from the start of my career and she’s continued to elevate her profile in the community as a trusted advisor with sharp insight,” said Nathan Kam, president of Anthology’s Public Relations Group. “She’s an ideal person for this senior role on our team as we both share a passion for excellence in our craft, mentoring our talented staff, and evolving our business for the future. Jackie has done a great job managing some of our top accounts and I look forward to putting our collective experiences together to build an even more comprehensive public relations practice at Anthology.”

Smythe joined Anthology in 2013 as vice president of account management, serving clients in the firm’s Advertising Group and directing marketing programs requiring a combination of direct mail, print, broadcast, online and branding strategies in their communications outreach. She has extensive experience serving clients in diverse industries, including commercial real estate, telecommunications, technology, health care, travel and food service. Smythe provides strategic and integrated approaches for all of her client’s needs.

“I’m thrilled to be working with such a dynamic group of professionals and clients,” Smythe said. “I look forward to sharing the expertise, insight and talent of this team with more individuals and companies throughout Hawaii who can benefit from our strategic communications counsel to grow their brands.”

Prior to joining Anthology, Smythe operated her own marketing consultancy for seven years and held the position of senior vice president at another local public relations firm for seven years, handling both the public relations and marketing needs of her clients.

Smythe is a graduate of the University of Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She holds a State of Hawaii real estate license and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and Meeting Planners International. She has also served as a board member for the Manoa Valley Theatre and Na Loio Immigrant Rights and Public Interest Legal Center.
